Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre

Blenheim is home to the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre which houses mementos of warbirds from the skies during World War 1. Some of the planes are still able to be flown. 

As well as the planes, there are numerous displays in glass cabinets including uniforms, photos and other memorabilia.

These poppies are crocheted, knitted, felted and sewn by Australian and New Zealand crafters as a sign of remembrance and respect to those NZ soldiers who lost their lives at Gallipoli and subsequent battles of WW1. There are over 25,000 poppies displayed at three locations throughout NZ: Airforce Museum, Wigram, Christchurch; Navy Museum, Devonport, Auckland; and here at the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre, Blenheim.

There are exhibits from everywhere. There is a wall of posters similar to this one.

In a small studio, a movie is playing every eight minutes or so. Included are statistics on numbers killed from each country during the war.
