Lowburn


Lowburn is a just a few minutes north of Cromwell. There's a great freedom camping place here right on the shores of Lake Dunstan. It's very popular and there's room for everyone. 


One evening we went for a walk up the road and found the Lowburn Hall . . .

. . . and the Lakeside Church nearby.

Both were close to this inlet, which was full of bird life.

I don't think I've ever noticed a black duck like this before with a white chest. There were several of them. A bit of research tells me they are Swedish Blue Ducks.

There were a lot of Australian Coots as well.

Check out these amazing lenticular cloud formations. The first two are on the same day towards the east of the lake. The third one was west of Lowburn in the other direction.
